Cole's 1st Birthday!

Cole is One!
We had fun celebrating Cole's first birthday with family and friends. We had his birthday party November 3rd, a few days before he was officially one. I chose to do an owl theme because I wanted to use fall colors but, didn't want to use all pumpkin things.  The things I found/made were perfect! I found quite a few ideas on Pinterest but had to pick and choose so I didn't go crazy spending/creating elaborate decorations that would just have to be thrown away.  Here are some pictures of everything all set up:

I enjoyed organizing and displaying the weekly pictures I have taken over the last year of our cute little guy!!! It was fun looking at how much he has grown and how his looks have changed.

A wonderful lady at Gigi's work made Cole's first birthday cupcake cake! It was so cute, and so yummy!

Cole had fun opening his presents! He wasn't too into ripping the paper and such but enjoyed the gifts once they were unwrapped! Of course, he was spoiled with too many gifts...no surprise there!

Hmm....this looks fun!

Cole did not have any sweets (besides fruit) for the first twelve months of his life! I wanted his first taste to be his birthday cake! We were excited to see how he would react. He definitely liked it but, didn't go hog-wild like I expected.
Listening to "Happy Birthday to You"

MMM...interesting

Yummy!

Ok, I like this!

Cutie Pie!
November 8th, Cole officially turned one! Mommy and Daddy had to work because it was a work day but he celebrated at daycare with some yummy cookies. I snapped some pictures of him in his birthday shirt before we left in the morning!

So full of himself!

Thanks again to everyone who wished Cole a happy birthday!  Dave and I never knew a love like this existed a year ago! We had heard how our hearts would be beyond full once he was in our arms but, the reality was extraordinary!!! He absolutely lights up our lives. Every night we have the same conversation which goes something like this.."Seriously , could he get any cuter?!", "He is something else", "He is the best baby in the world!". We know we are so blessed! Happy birthday Colton Ray! :)

12 Months Old!

One Year Old!!
Our little man is 12 months old! What a terrific twelve months it has been with Cole in our lives. It feels like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital!

Starting to take steps on his own towards the end of his 12th month!

Sleep: Cole is still on the same sleep schedule as the past few months. In bed by 7:30 at the latest and up around 6:15. He continues to take a shorter nap in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon.

Eating:Still eating EVERYTHING! Now he's starting to beg one of us for the food on our plates if we are eating and he is not. He is also still drinking whole milk, water, and the occasional splash of juice.

mmm...I love snacks in my snack cup

mmmm....Cookies

Diaper Size: Size 4 during the day. Size 5 Overnights at bedtime. He was getting up a lot randomly at night with a soaked diaper so I changed his bedtime diaper and it has worked like a charm.

Clothes Size: All 18 months stuff! Most of the pants fit just right on the belly but are still a little long so he goes with the rolled up pant leg look.

Other Fun Facts:
* He is walking behind anything that rolls: push-behind toys, laundry baskets :)

Playing with the monitor camera
*Learning new words and new things everyday! He is really starting to show interest in pushing trucks and things with wheels around. His favorite word is "ball". He knows what "ball" means but also uses it to describe pretty much anything. He also uses "na" for snack and "dat" for that. "DaDa or Da" is still his favorite! He now plays with the monitor video camera because he knows that if he touches it Mommy or Daddy will come in and move itHe also knows where other people's noses are and likes to point at them when prompted.

Mid "Dada"-Check out the teeth!

*Cole experienced his first extreme weather event-Super Storm Sandy. Super Storm Sandy wreaked havoc in New York and New Jersey as well as other areas. It also caused a lot of coastal flooding in our area, heavy rain, and strong winds. The storm cancelled school for a couple of days this week and even postponed some of Dave's work. So, we had extra cuddle time with our boy. It also allowed me to prepare some things for Cole's upcoming 1st birthday party!

* Cole's first Halloween was the same week as Super Storm Sandy. He looked SO stinking cute in his little pumpkin costume! He also joined Mommy in her school's Halloween parade. A couple of years ago, I carried my Godson Charlie around the parade and I couldn't wait to carry my own little man! He also joined Mommy's class for a little bit of our Halloween party and was so well behaved. He just hung in his stroller and watched all the crazy second graders. They loved seeing him Cole in "real-life", not just pictures!

What a difference a year makes!
